Our Three-Fold Mission

We believe that the ultimate goal of education is to cultivate people with integrity, high moral character and wisdom. Our focus is on returning to traditional values, and our hope is that our students will leave Lotus Academy embodying all the positive attributes of our school name and symbol, the lotus flower: The Lotus flower grows out of mud, but it is not tainted; it is washed in water, but it maintains its beauty and innocence.

We offer a classic education, with a rigorous curriculum tailored to meet all students and their varied needs.

Mathematics

We utilize one of the world’s best math programs: Singapore Math, a highly effective teaching approach originally developed by Singapore’s Ministry of Education in the 1980s for Singapore public schools. It was introduced to the US curriculum in 1998 and has been widely adopted in various forms around the world over the past twenty years following the introduction of the curriculum to the U.S. We also provide Math Kangaroo and Beast Academy for advanced students.

Our English, Science, and Social Studies programs provide students a positive environment in which to learn.

Our programs are academically advanced and the activities and teaching emphasize character-building in order to make our students emotionally stronger, more independent and more capable of dealing with problems as they navigate today’s complex world.

Arts, Music, and Dance

Our global arts, music, and dance programs provide students with a variety of skills and benefits including creative expression, cultural awareness, imagination, problem-solving skills, motor skill development and more.

Additionally, exposure to the arts can have a positive impact on a child’s emotional and social well-being, helping to foster empathy, self-esteem, and a love for learning.

English & Chinese Programs

English-Based Program

We offer two tracks of education. Both involve learning Chinese to various degrees:

For Beginners, we provide the English-based Program.

Classes are taught in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Library, Writing, Daily Read Aloud, Arts, Drama, Music, PE, Dance, Robotics, and more. Chinese Classes are also included.

We also offer frequent field trips to Boston museums for student enrichment.

The Chinese Immersion Program

Language immersion can bring amazing results. For advanced Chinese students to achieve fluency, we offer the same set of courses in a unique environment:

K-G1: 75% Chinese, 25% English
G2-G5: 50% Chinese, 50% English

On top of the core subjects—Chinese, English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Library, Writing, and Daily Read Aloud—we also offer classes in the Arts, Drama, Music, PE, Dance, and Robotics, complemented by frequent field trips throughout metro Boston.

My daughter has been going to Lotus Academy for K for the past semester, and I am overwhelmed by the changes that she has gone through during a short 4 months. In that time period, not only her English, Math, and Chinese skills have all improved significantly, she’s also developed study habits and life habits that I will believe will be the key foundations for her entire life. Her English has gone from barely recognizing words to reading simple books, spelling sight words. She’s now doing 3 digit addition in math. Her Chinese is much better than what she was doing at home. The more important part is that she’s gaining the confidence to ask questions in class, to think logically, to connect the dots on many basic concepts. She’s also developing the habits of reading, doing work before playing, and her attention span is getting much longer than what she was. She has also become much more outspoken and actively making friends when meeting kids in the playground. Thank you to the wonderful teachers and staff at Lotus Academy for making this such a wonderful experience for Emily and our family.

Our son is enrolled in Lotus Academy for Kindergarten and he’s absolutely loving every day of it. The teachers are amazing. They are caring, experienced, talented and professional. The curriculum is customized for each student and the teachers encourage learning while keeping it fun and engaging for the kids. They also do a really good job with enrichment activities, our son really enjoys the weekly arts, music, and drama classes, and us parents are always looking forward to the video production of their drama class each Friday. We highly recommend Lotus Academy for other families.
